Scars and Grace
Dear Friends,
The picture you
see here is of my friend Noyo in Haiti. A recent visitor to Haiti wrote a great
blog entry about Noyo and his experiences as Young Life leader in Haiti that
you’ll be blessed to read. Click on Scars that tell of the good life to read an amazing story of faithfulness,
grace and a God-centered mission.
I’d love for you to be praying for the Haitian
YL team especially this month. Soon I’ll
be spending 5 days in Haiti with Noyo and our Haitian leadership team as we’ll celebrate
what God is doing through them and then evaluate and plan and pray about
training more Haitian YL leaders. Pray God would give a lot of wisdom and
insight into how to best support these amazing leaders. Right after that I’ll
be in the Dominican Republic to get some time with key staff and be with a work
team from Brookside CRC’s youth group. It’ll be a full and exciting month, thanks
for praying for these trips and for Jenn and our kids while I’m gone.
Also,
if you’re in the Grand Rapids area remember that this Saturday is
FAMILY FUN DAY
from 10:00-1:30 pm at Brookside CRC (3600 Kalamazoo Ave.) to help raise funds
to send more Dominican teenagers to YL camp.
We’ll have bounce houses, games, food, puppets, face painting and more for kids
and families to have a great day and to help with this great cause. Entry is
free and we’ll be taking donations-- every $100 dollars we raise can send another
teen to camp for a life changing experience, bring your kids, grandkids or
neighbors for a great time and to help with this cause.
Scott, thanks so much for referencing my blog! I am excited for more people to access Nyoyo's amazing story. He's made an eternal difference in my life. Thank you also for your work through Young Life!
