Learning at your side
Acts 8:30-31: “Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?”
Dear Friends,
But the
reality is a lot of that isn’t transition or new—it’s continuation with teens
who had a life changing experience this summer.
Here’s a couple examples of what this continuation looks like in Latin
America after a summer camp.
Yeoffrey, a leader in the Dominican Republic went to visit one of the kids who came to camp
a few days after returning home. As he walked up to the teen's house, he saw
one of the boy’s neighbors. The neighbor asked him, "What do you guys do at that camp?" He wanted to know
because he had seen his tough teenage neighbor go out onto his front steps
every morning after camp to read his Bible and wondered how on earth that could
have happened. Camp in Mexico |

The reality is it’s not an
earthly answer, it’s because the love of Jesus transforms lives. There were
over 350 teens like this who made a decision for Christ at the Dominican camp
this summer and are now growing in their faith.
One of our leaders in Mexico received this note from a Mother of one of the students they
brought to camp—“I’ve got a lot of words
to thank you for the opportunity you gave my son…..but the most important word
is THANK YOU!....You changed our lives in a way that we couldn’t have imagined,
he talks about Jesus and of the church with a platform for a band and
screens where he praised Jesus. My son wants to continue with you, learning
at your side.”

Our new son Reed is almost 6 weeks old! He’s doing great and Caroline and Jack have adapted to having a younger brother around really well. Keep praying for us as we adapt to being outnumbered!
Leader trainings that have just occurred, or are about to, in Ecuador, Nicaragua, Mexico and Colombia. Pray God uses these events to keep equipping young leaders to walk with teens in need.
